DEPT. OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING — UNIVERSITY OF BARISHAL

We prototype ideas into working systems.

The Research & Development wing of CSE, University of Barishal — where students and faculty build software, hardware and IoT solutions from first sketch to working prototype.

About the Domain

An R&D bench inside the CSE department

Every board needs a place where ideas get soldered together.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Barishal runs this Research & Development domain as the department's applied wing — a space where coursework turns into working prototypes. Students and faculty here design, build and test software applications, embedded hardware and connected IoT systems, alongside the department's academic and publication work.

The department currently offers B.Sc. (Engg.) and MS programs, with a PhD track planned. This R&D domain exists to give that academic grounding somewhere concrete to land: real builds, tested and documented, driven by faculty-guided student teams.

Focus Areas

Three tracks, one bench

Every project on this domain slots into one of three boards.

TRACK / 01 — SW

Software Solutions

Applications and systems built to solve problems the department and community actually run into.

  • Web & mobile applications
  • Academic & campus tools
  • Backend systems & APIs
TRACK / 02 — HW

Hardware Design

Circuits and physical devices — from breadboard tests to soldered, enclosure-ready boards.

  • Embedded systems & microcontrollers
  • Sensor & control circuits
  • PCB prototyping
TRACK / 03 — IoT

IoT Systems

Connected devices that bridge the software and hardware tracks into one working system.

  • Sensor networks & telemetry
  • Automation & monitoring devices
  • Cloud-connected dashboards
How We Work

From idea to working prototype

The same five-stage path, whichever track a project belongs to.

STAGE 01

Ideate

Define the problem and scope the build with a faculty mentor.

STAGE 02

Design

Architecture, circuit schematics, or system diagrams get drafted.

STAGE 03

Build

Code gets written, boards get soldered, devices get assembled.

STAGE 04

Test

Prototypes are run against real conditions and iterated on.

STAGE 05

Deploy

Finished work is documented and handed off or demoed.
